“Don’t tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you’ve travelled.” – travel quotes
If you are like me, you will be overwhelmed just by entering the gates of the Vatican City and seeing St Peter’s Square for the very first time. I had goosebumps as I stood there and thinking that this is the place where the pope gives his blessings to the masses. We were there on the wrong day so we weren’t able to see the pope (that was a big disappointment), but just the mere standing in the middle of the piazza, there’s that peaceful feeling that you get, that you don’t experience in any other place. The whole atmosphere is very intense and very inspiring!
In here you will also see the ever serious handsome 😉 Pontifical Swiss Guards of the Vatican City. Haha the ladies were trying to make them smile but no luck.
If you are into art then The Vatican Museum is for you. It contains masterpieces of paintings, sculpture and other works of art. A collection of modern religious art was added to the collection in 1973.

I found the Vatican very overwhelming – so much art and riches in contrast to the needs of so many.
