“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…” – Dr Seuss
I live a few minutes away from Melbourne CBD, and everytime I get the chance I enjoy searching for street arts. And that is exactly what I did this morning. Melbourne has lots of alley ways, some populat ones like the Hosier Lane , which is visited by hundreds of people especially on nice days like today.
Hey there… found some bikes again!
I saw this young street artist who was using chalk as his medium. He is from Quebec but grew up in Turkey. He was doing this huge amazing artwork on the sidewalks of Bourke Street.
Melbourne is also known for it’s cafes. Today I happened to see this street food style arcade. Oh so yum. Lunch at Shandong Mama @shandongmamamelb which is known for its dumplings.
One last thing I did was visit NGV the National Gallery of Victoria. I wanted to go to the exhibit of Escher X Nendo but it was very busy since it was still school holidays. Will try again next time. But the exhibit that I liked is that of Julian Opie, a British artist, whose work has been influenced by the pop culture. People are the focus of the exhibition and most of them have movement. So if you can, have a look at this exhibition until 17 February 2019 at the NGV, Melbourne.
